Why we do what we do…
The stories we post are all true. We just can’t make this stuff up! We hope that by sharing pieces of our lives and our inspirations, you will join us on our quest…just embracing and loving life. The ups and the downs, the meltdowns and the excitement, the messy days and even those few days we have it all together. It’s about all perspective. Even in our hardships we can find keepsakes. Some of our greatest treasures are gained in moments of adversity, even though at the time, we wish it wasn’t happening. Whether it is a tragedy or something as simple as your toddler dropping the container of opened cottage cheese on the floor, it is all a part of this life that we love. We learn to breathe through the moments of heartache and learn to simply laugh at the cottage cheese on the floor. Hey, why not laugh at spilt milk? They say there is no use cryin’!
No wrinkles and gray for us; we will take the laugh lines and silver lining. And when all else fails, we will break out that bottle of hair dye under the sink for emergencies. 😉
About the book
Great news! Even though your family had pizza for dinner three times this week, you ran over the diaper bag, you haven’t exercised in weeks, your toddler flushed your toothbrush down the toilet and threw a fit in the grocery store, you can still be considered for the parent-of-the-year award! (Well, not really, but only because there is no such thing.)
As fellow moms, we sisters are here to tell you there will be days your kids don’t follow the manuals they came with. (Oh, wait, THOSE don’t exist either!) We parents often measure our success according to the goal of being perfect in every area of life, including the behavior of our children. But, what if our feeling of failure is simply…misguided? It’s time to put down the mom-guilt “bat” and embrace our imperfections. Although you are imperfect, you can still be the perfect parent your kid needs.

About the Authors
Jamie Lightner married her high school sweetheart and is blessed with four amazing children who have provided her with plenty of source material for her many adventures in motherhood. She began writing twelve years ago to find the “funny” in “spilt milk” because, when you have kids, messes of all kinds are just part of life. Jamie is also a life coach through TurningLeaf Wellness Center and has a passion for helping others believe in who there are and truly enjoy the many adventures of life.
Jessica Warren was set up on a blind date 1500 miles from her small Michigan hometown and she was crazy enough to go! After falling madly in love in Colorado, she dragged her husband-to-be back to Michigan, where they married and started their own adventures in parenting. There is never a dull day with her two beautiful towheads. While she helps her older son through his first year of school, she is walking her youngest through chemo in a fight against a brain tumor. Through it all, she sees God’s blessing and is thankful for all that she’s been given.
