‘Twas the night before school…. A poem written by the “Misguided Sisters”
‘Twas the night before schoolAnd all through the homeNot a child was laughingIt was all moans and groans Dad was scramblingTo get the kids to bedWhile mother slapped some peanut butterOn the last few pieces of bread Clothes were laid outAll back packs were hungSummer was overThe fat lady had sung The kids were restlessAnd in their beds by eightAlarms were setSo no one would be late Finally all, Were asleep in their bedsWhile visions of RecessDanced in their heads When all of a suddenThere arose such a clatter“What is that !!!”“What could be the matter!!” I couldn’t hit the snooze buttonNearly fast enough“Ugh” I groanedThis morning would be rough “Mom, it’s too early”The kids whined and pouted“Get up!!! We are going to be LATE!!”The mom shouted. Clothes, breakfast, toothbrushesNot a thing to be missedAnd on their way out the doorEach adorned with a mothers kiss The mom sang while she sweptShe made that house shine everywhereNo one would mess it up todayBecause NO ONE would be there! With the last load of laundry dryingAs she made up her bedVisions of Biggby CoffeeDanced in her head Oh yes! She thoughtShe will get herself a FrappAnd then to Meijer’s, or the mallOr maybe take a nap She looked at the clockThe time was 2:33There is still so much work to be doneAnd she hasn’t had her coffee That’s okIt’s September for goodness sakeThere are many more daysBefore Christmas break Kids bounced through the doorFull of stories and cheerHappy school days to allAnd to all a Great year!
