OMG I have to tell you this!!!…followed by a brief Super Z update :)
So I know you are all waiting to hear about Zayne and I will give a brief update…but I HAVE to tell you what happend today. All week I have been “supposed” to go to the post office, but first I needed to get a box to mail the books, and then I forgot the package when I went to pick up the kids, and then the post office was closed, and then I passed right by the post office, and then I didn’t have time to go to the post office and then I was too tired to go to the post office…you get the picture, it was one thing after another everyday!
So finally today, I left early, I had everything packaged up and ready to send. When I got there the Post master said, “Just books in here.”
“ Books and some book marks” I said.
Well, turns out if it’s not JUST books, it cost twice as much to send. So I UN-taped my box, get an envelope to put the bookmarks in, RE-taped the box, address the envelope to the SAME address that the books are going to and finally they are ready for send off. I open my purse to pay, only to realize, I put my wallet in my computer bag today, and left that bag back at home after my morning errands. Ugh.
“I am so sorry, this is sooooo embarrassing but can you suspend the order, I don’t have my wallet.” I asked MORTIFIED!!!
“Oh wait, do you take a check!!” I asked with a glimmer of hope.
“Yes we do.” The postmaster said, sounding relieved himself
“Oh No! I am all outta checks.” I said
Ugh, soooooo embarrassing. ( Although, any of you regular readers, well, I know you are not surprised that this was the predicament I found myself in)
By now, not only am I embarrassed I don’t have my wallet but there has been a guy waiting to mail his parcel, who I am sure remembered his wallet.
“I can just cancel your order and we can start over when you get back.” The postmaster said
Just then the guy behind me slides HIS credit card through the reader paying for my bill!
“Oh my gosh sir! Can I send you a check…Pleeeeeeese.” I said overcome with feelings of gratitude and panic all at once. I mean I was absolutely grateful for his kindness, but more than willing to pay him!!!!
I got his name, Jeff Hawes and he said he was the JV Basketball coach.
“Well, now I got your name, I can look you up and send you a check.” I said
“Don’t bother, I won’t cash it anyway.” He said with a kind smile and a chivalrous nod.
Wow, I absolutely LOVE random acts of kindness. I love when I can help someone out. But I gotta say, I felt both glad for his help, yet still sheepish to have been there with no way to pay and some guy who doesn’t even know me paid my bill. So sweet.
So I wanted to give a shout out to Jeff Hawes and say thank you!!! Thank you for your random act of kindness and I hope many more come your way. And good luck to the JV Basketball team!!!
Please if anyone is FB friends with Jeff, could you tag him in this post.
I will be sure to keep the acts of kindness moving forward!!! I love it when humanity helps each other.
As far as Zayne goes here are the logistics. The Warrens are exhausted from traveling, and I am sure Jess will post more story details next week.
After their consult in Philly they were sure Texas is where they are meant to be. So they are making arrangements for brain surgery to drain the cyst sometime in February. Again, thanks to ALL for your support. They just had a great event in ALMA that was so amazing. WE are all continually amazed by the support and can’t help but think how it all began with our little town of Springport.
